Beltway Baseball 6th Place 71.5 pts 30 pts out

Can't be too bad when you have an entire Saturday without one pitching performance. J.D. Drew and Derrick Lee homered, Keith Ginter gets two hits and Milton Bradley steals a base. Productive. Trying to decide if I should offer Bradley for Gagne. My inclination is to not do that, Bradley potentially helps me in more catagories than Gagne and I have no one to fill Bradley's spot (Wily Mo Pena is the functional equilivant of no one)

Right League 1st 70 pts 10.5 pts ahead

God I love these guys. 4 bombs, 8 runs 9 RBI. A win, two saves, 13K's 16.7 IP 2.7 ERA 1.26 WHIP. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Only dark cloud is Uncle Cliffy's collision with Cameron. In first place in only one catagory too. (RBIs) Upside potential! Tied for fifth in steals but only 8 steals from first.

D5 4th 40.5 pts 19pts out

Another day in Mediocreville. Jerome Williams has been as good as I'd hoped (one of my 4 keepers) B. Giles stealing a base is a good thing. Aramis Ramirez's hot streak is good, maybe Ray Lankford's two hits will make himn attractive. Also, I have some work to do here, if Matt Kata's injury is as severe as it seems, then Scott Hairston may have some value. However, since Robby Alomar is back in two to three weeks and if I activate Hariston, I'd have to keep him around or lose him as akeeper next year, well you get the idea. Rock meet hard place. I think the best course is just to let him be frozen, hang in limbo the rest of this year, lose the year of service time and have a $5 Hairston for next year.

Beltway Baseball 6th place 71 points 31.5 out

Trade offer yesterday. Renteria for Gagne. Renteria is at $24 for this year and next Gagne is in an option year. Two years of Renteria for one year of Gagne. Couldn't do it. Can't see Gagne making me all that much more competitive. However, Renteria's numbers aren't that impressive so far. Stealing two bases yesterday makes his numbers look better. Pitching still being battered, Harang and Chacon the latest offenders. Dropped to last in ERA. No surprise there. Love that Akinori Otsuka.

Right League 1st place 63.5 points 3 point lead

Not much of note here today. Kolb another save, Herges blows one. Casey and Lowell stay hot, Dunn ice cold. Dense pack in Wins and stolen bases and the good news is that I'm at the bottom of the pack in both those catagories. I've got lots of upsude potential. Just need to be patient and wait for someone to throw in the towel on the season.

Division 5 3rd place 42 points 16 out

12/37 1HR 5 runs 2 RBI 2 SBs Imagine that. One day I'm falling down the roller coaster and the next I'm going back up. I just can';t figure this squad, am I in it or not? Since I had so few keepers coming into the year, I figured that this was a rebuilding year but I'm actually competitive. Wilson Alvarez better pitch well tonight.

I've finally decided that the subject of this blog is going to be a running commentary of my fantasy baseball teams. It is the only subject that I care to make public and it might serve a purpose. That purpose being to allow me to remember what the hell I was thinking at various points of the season and apply that knowledge later on.

Since I have no time nor interest in writing a complete background of my three teams, I'll just start from today and fill in the blanks as time goes on.

Right League: 1st Place 66.5 points 6 points ahead

Everything is clicking for this squad. Still shy on the speed so Edgar Renteria's and Tike Redman's SB were a welcome sight. Haven't felt the loss of Marcus Giles yet, Jose Castillo is a decent replacement for the time being. Just noticed that one owner is signing American League players, that's a sign that he might be ready to dump. Got to be ready when he makes that move. Giles at $6, Casey at $2, Barrett @ $1 might be useful trade bait. Don't know if a $4 Pavano or a $5 Ol. Perez would be attractive.

Beltway baseball 5th place 72 points 29 points from first

Adam Eaton is KILLING me. And I'm stuck with him for another season. It was tortue watching belt high fastball after belt high fastball sail over the left field fence yesterday. 8 freaking runs. Hopefully, Renteria is coming around, 3 hits and a SB.

Division 5 5th place 39 points 19.5 out of first

The Sexson injury has just taken the life out of this squad. Even Brian Giles' resurgance isn't enough to rescusitate it. Really, the problem here is pitching. Ismael Valdez in Colorado, Hideo Nomo and Wilson Alvarez stinking lately, and even Matt Morris contributing little except WHIP. Maybe Prior and Armas Jr. can come riding to the rescue. News that LaRussa is going to platooon Lankford makes it easier to jettison him when (or if) Larry Walker comes back. I could get Jason Isringhausen and make a move in the save catagory but with the enormous inflation of closers I just can't part with Chad Cordero at $7. That might be a great long term buy.

It's a joke that this stuff is relegated to Page2 at ESPN.com and ESPN the Magazine. Brilliant stuff,

"You always need that outsider -- Brandon on "90210," Ryan on "The OC," Darko on the Pistons. They're like us. They don't belong in this world; neither do we."

I can't believe the Kimmel show isn't funnier.

My sole purpose here is to have a place to archive anything that I run across in my surfing that might I might want to find again. It will be erratic, ecletcic and prehaps soon abandoned.
